I found another blog today http://menumakermom.blogspot.com/ with lots and lots of ideas on planning.
If I'm going to use the crockpot, then I need to plan ahead as I need to turn it on by 9 a.m. or so. But if I'm just baking or broiling something, I often don't decide until that morning what I'm going to make for dinner that night.
Leave me a comment. Let me know if you plan ahead or if you decide in the early afternoon what's for dinner that night.

Sometimes I plan ahead. I will do a menu for two weeks, and then make my grocery list according to the menu. A trick for saving money is to use ground turkey where you usually use ground beef, spaghetti, lazagna, meat loaf, etc.
Oh i never think of dinner until 2 hours before. The GS is only 2 blocks from my house, it is enabling me! I am working on it!
I'm a serious planner! I do several memes to help keep me on track. The 2nd link is for a chance to win $500 for a tip.

I always try to plan ahead... but I leave myself with a few choices. Sometimes what I think sounds good when I make my plans doesn't sound very good when I actually go to make it.
I do a combination. I plan enough meals for a bout 2 weeks when I do my grocery shopping and then each day about 9am, I decide whats for dinner that night. Some times my plans are chnaged and I make what I see on the current show I am watching on Food Network
