So many of you have written me asking for more simple crockpot recipes. I was shopping at Vons today and they had roasts on sale. I bought one. This is a very simple recipe that comes out great:
1 roast
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup mix
Place the roast in the crockpot. Sprinkle the soup mix on top of the roast. Cover with mushroom soup. Depending on the size of your crockpot, you may want to add a bit of water.
You'll have a nice gravy, so try serving with mashed potatoes.
Note: if the roast does not quite fit in your crockpot, cut it in half and see if it fits in two pieces.

Sounds yummy. I LOVE my crockpot! Does the gravy that results need any tinkering (such as thickening it up on the stovetop), or just a little stirring? (I clicked the box to get follow-up comments e-mailed to me, so I'll see it if you respond here.)
Have a Happy New Year!
Amy, I never tinker with sauces. I just pour them from the crockpot into a measuring cup and then pour on potatoes, meat etc.
